A New York man is suing his ex-wife to recover some of the value of her shoe collection.

Daniel Shak, a hedge fund manager based in New York, was married to Beth Shak, a professional poker player. The couple divorced and it appeared that the two could each go on with their lives.

But Daniel recently filed suit against Beth, claiming that Beth failed to disclose her shoe collection as an asset during the divorce. The collection includes over 1,200 pairs of shoes. Beth has estimated its value at $500,000. Daniel claims that it’s worth around $1 million. Whatever the value, he wants 35% of it.

Daniel believes that Beth hid the shoes from him and asserts that they may have been in a secret room. Beth, in turn, claims that such a prospect is absurd, and insists that he knew of the shoes.

Time will tell how the litigation turns out.
